San Diego native Rosa Téllez comes from a classical piano and Mexican folklórico dance background and has been dancing flamenco for several years. After studying folklórico with Carlos Santoyo, she began her flamenco studies with Patti Magańa, followed by Angelita Giglitto and Juanita Franco. In addition she has attended many flamenco workshops. Over the past twelve years, Rosa has performed in numerous San Diego County venues, including as a regular dancer at Olé Madrid. She currently performs in the Costa Brava dinner show.
As a principle dancer in Juanita Franco's Olé Flamenco company, Rosa performed with the San Diego Symphony (both at Symphony Hall and the CECUT in Tijuana) and, recently, with the San Diego Opera's production of Carmen. Rosa has considerable experience teaching flamenco - particularly to children - having previously taught for the City of Chula Vista.
